"True love" is a phrase and a theme in one of my favorite movies, the Princess Bride. Can you show "true love"? Is it possible to do? It's not an easy task for sure.
Well, I now believe that showing "true love" your spouse... is getting items at the store that you wouldn't buy otherwise!
Not too long ago, I was asked by Lydia to stop by the store. Without really being inquisitive on what for, I replied that it be no problem. Then she told me what I needed to pick up. Yes, I was okay with the small list she gave me, but then at the end, she added pantyhose.
I hesitated.
My heart skipped.
I gulped and took a breath.
"Pantyhose?" Really? This is not my favorite item to get at the store. First, I have to go the the women's section. Secondly, I then browse through the intimate clothing isle for the pantyhose. Once found, it's searching for the right brand, size, and color! Yeah... fun...
I felt like I was on a secret mission, hoping not to get caught or seen by anyone I know. Remember, it's not easy! Wal-mart is the one place where you are guaranteed to see some acquaintance every time you visit. Oh, the horror.
Well, needless to say, I did it! Once placed and secured in the shopping kart, I felt like I deserved a medal of honor (like the gold one on Wreck-It Ralph). I wiped the sweat from my forehead, looked all around for the escape to a main isle, and made a bee-line for the next items on the list. I was free to continue on with the shopping.
Hey, a true, loving man does this task for his gal! This is "TRUE LOVE"....!
By the way... I'm so very thankful for self-checkouts. :)
