If you haven’t heard, today is National Camera Day… commemorating photographs, the camera, and their invention.  It’s an irreplaceable tool used to record and replicate memories, events, and people/places. The original camera was large and bulky but has now evolved into something that can be as small as a pen. With the advancement of technology, everyone takes photos with their smart devices… but hey! Did you know they make calls as well?

An R2-D2 unit sold at an auction on Wednesday for $2.76 million. The 43-inch tall unit, which was made from parts used on screen throughout the original trilogy, was the most expensive piece of memorabilia at the auction. There is no information on who purchased the item.

In the News:
Researchers at a university in Spain have developed a humanoid robot programmed to iron clothes.
The TEO robot, developed at Carlos III University of Madrid, uses a camera embedded in its head to render a hi-resolution 3D image of the ironing board and the piece of clothing to iron out the wrinkles.
A real “Iron Man”?

Sorry kids… You can’t take this fidget spinner to class!
A group of experimental mechanics in Russia created an enormous fidget spinner by combining portions of three cars.
The youtube group, named Garage 54,  attached the front half of the three vehicles together and attempted to drive them in a circle to mimic the toy's spinning motion. In the process, the drivers nearly tore the absurd collection of vehicles apart. Watch the video:

There’s a new drug that can give human skin a "natural" tan — it activates the same process that causes skin to darken in the sun, without exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, according to early research. A new batch of law enforcers are joining Taiwan's police force in the form of a litter of adorable newborn puppies.
Taiwan's National Police Agency on June 8 shared photos of the six puppies -- named Lucky Star, Schumann, Feida, Brother, AJ and Full Moon -- that will be put through training in hopes of becoming part of the country's K-9 Unit.
