Tis’ the season of Giving!
A boy who came to a Best Buy store every day for two months to play a WiiU was surprised by employees who handed him his own console to take home and play. “I’m being serious. It’s your Christmas present,” an employee said while trying to hand the stunned boy the box with a receipt, warranty and a game to play. One of the employees at the Valley Stream, New York, store posted a video of the exchange on YouTube:

More News:
Choosing the perfect Christmas tree is a fun tradition for many families, but it's important to consider fire safety when decorating for the holidays, a pediatrician's' group advises.
People who opt for an artificial tree should make sure it's fire-resistant. This should be noted on its label, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
If you're buying a live Christmas tree for your home, the group recommends the following precautions:
  • Pick a fresh tree. Many people look for trees that are a certain size or shape, but it's also important to make sure it's not dried out. Dry trees may become a fire hazard. A fresh tree is green and its needles don't break or drop off its branches easily. The trunk of a fresh tree is also sticky.
  • Trim the trunk. Cutting a few inches off the trunk of the tree exposes fresh wood. This enables the tree to absorb water more efficiently and avoid drying out.
  • Water the tree. Be sure to keep the tree-stand filled with water. Trees in heated homes can dry out quickly.
  • Carefully consider tree placement. Christmas trees should not be near fireplaces, radiators or portable heaters. Trees should not block doorways. Instead, they should be placed away from high-traffic areas.

Better to give than receive?
We know Christmas is a time for giving, but let’s be honest. Part of what makes this holiday the most wonderful time of the year is that we also love to receive! But what if someone gave you a gift with one condition – you have to give it away to someone else? Would you want to part with it?
That’s what shoppers at Grand Central in Birmingham were asked to do in a video that has gone viral. It truly demonstrates season of giving.... https://youtu.be/4f4Ve-fuuZQ

If you’re struggling to find a Christmas gift for someone who has everything, an American retailer has got you covered, and it’s not a lump of coal.
For $85 ($114), Nordstrom is selling a stone wrapped in a leather case. Yes, you read that correctly.
“A paperweight? A conversation piece? A work of art? It’s up to you,” reads the description for the handmade gift. “But this smooth Los Angeles-area stone — wrapped in rich, vegetable-tanned American leather secured by sturdy contrast whipstitching — is sure to draw attention wherever it rests.
It continues: “A traditional hardening process gives the leather a beautiful ombré effect. Like all Made Solid leather pieces, this one is cut, shaped, sewn and finished by hand in artist Peter Maxwell’s Los Angeles studio.”

More news:
A Christmas tree farmer has found and returned a wedding ring that slipped off a New Jersey man's finger roughly 15 years ago. David Penner lost the ring during a visit with his wife to Wyckoff's Tree Farm in White Township.
John Wyckoff, a third-generation tree farmer, was riding on the back of a tractor sticking trees in the ground in April when he spotted something shiny in the soil. He sifted the dirt and found the wedding band.
An NJ.com report on the discovery last week spurred a call from Penner's sister-in-law, who connected the two men. After meeting, and Penner confirming the wedding date within the band with the marriage certificate, the reunion was bittersweet. Penner’s wife of 42 years had recently died at age 67 in September. "This was a piece to come back to me, in her absence," he said.

When it comes to inventions for cheese, the human race has outdone it this time! The “Fondoodler”, a hot glue gun for cheese, now exists and can be purchased for $25. It’s culinary caulking gun that dispenses hot, coagulated cheese all over your nachos, crackers, or face.
Here's how it works: load up the canister with whatever cheese you see fit, let it heat up for three minutes, and cover your tacos with pure, melty exceptionalism. Or you can just shoot it right into your open mouth.
And to answer the big question… Yes, every piece of the Fondoodler can be washed in a dishwasher!

Blame wages and turtle doves: '12 Days of Christmas' now costs $34,363.
For more than 30 years, PNC Financial Services Group has calculated the prices of the twelve gifts from the classic carol "The Twelve Day of Christmas." The result is the PNC Christmas Price Index, a unique and whimsical holiday tradition that makes learning about the economy fun.
This year, the price of two turtle doves jumped from $290 to $375, but nine of the other 12 gifts listed in the carol stayed the same price or became cheaper, including a partridge in a pear tree.
To put it all in perspective, a buyer who purchased all the gifts each time they are mentioned in the song would spend $156,507, up $1,100 from last year.
Yes, I think I’ll just stick to singing the song…
