The  famous ruby red slippers, stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minn. in August 2005, have been recovered. The Wizard of Oz attraction were swiped during a heist in which someone broke through a window and broke into the small display case. The shoes were insured for $1 million.

School started a few weeks ago and already, my son brought home a package for his school’s fundraiser. I was surprised. Two major things are missing! Bacon and pumpkin spice….!


The 2018-19 Farmer's Almanac was published Monday and it's safe to say that heavy winter coats, window scrapers and plenty of hot chocolate will be needed for much of the winter. The Farmers Almanac predicts that the Central US, Midwest and Northeast will see a cold, brutal winter.

Even though banana plants can grow to be 30 feet in height, they're not technically trees: their stems are sturdy, but contain no woody tissue.
