Concert Fun

 

So many things happen at a Southern Gospel concert! 


Yes, I've been blessed to help with several concerts over the past few years, thanks to my employment at KWFC Radio. Besides doing most of the promotional material, I get to work "behind the scenes". It's pretty neat getting to eat and visit with the artists, watching and helping with set-up, and then helping deal with our listeners who come. Most of it is fun, sometimes stressful, and then there is some work.

These concerts are different in the fact that I enjoy them in a different way than those who come and just attend. I don't get to sit down and 'enjoy' the singing. I'm running around, helping make sure things run smoothly. During the admission, I'm trying to help answer questions and assist where needed. Many times, I'm also helping with the media.

Now, I'm not complaining. I really enjoy it. Plus, I do get to hear what's going on. And believe me, there is much that we get to experience....

At a concert a few years ago, an elderly gentleman was in the fifth row answered his cell phone. He hollered into it, "you'll have to talk louder, they're singing too loud for me to hear you!"

At every concert, I'll have several listeners approach me with "Hey! Good to see you! Remember me? I called you 3 months ago about a song..." or "Hi! I'm (insert name here), you know me! You should... I listen to you every afternoon".

Ha! Yes... a Southern Gospel concert is never boring, and this Friday is gonna be fantastic!!!
