A Kentucky doctor preparing to give birth ended up delivering another woman's baby while in her hospital gown.

Dr. Amanda Hess was preparing to have labor induced at Frankfort Regional Medical Center when she heard a woman she had treated before was giving birth and experiencing complications. The physician on call had just left, so she decided to leap into action. All went well, and Dr. Hess later gave birth to a healthy girl, Ellen Joyce.

How does this strike you? A Nevada woman filming footage of a thunderstorm captured the moment she was nearly electrocuted by a lightning strike mere feet away. Aida Dominguez said she went outside to capture video of the storm Sunday in Henderson so she could show her husband, who was at work in Las Vegas.

Dominguez's video shows a bolt of lightning strike a street lamp just feet away from Dominguez, who then flees. She said the lightning caused the street to shake beneath her feet.

Police in Georgia said a man stopped for driving faster than 100 mph gave officers an unsatisfying excuse: He was trying to use a speed-based Snapchat filter. The photo-sharing app includes a photo filter that prints the speed the user is traveling on top of the picture they took.

The police posted on twitter: "to look good on snapchat" is never a reason to endanger the public...especially at 112 MPH.

What’s up with Route 65? Crews have re-opened one lane of the highway southbound between I-44 and Chestnut Expressway. Work will now move south, closing both southbound lanes between Chestnut Expressway and Sunshine Street. All northbound lanes of highway 65 remain open.
