A Florida man suspected there were rats in his family's attic but made a far more surprising discovery -- a 6-foot boa constrictor had been living in the home for an estimated 2-4 years.
After finding it a suitable home, the snake trapper believes the boa might have been an escaped or abandoned pet that slithered into the attic from a tree branch. He said the snake saga should serve as a reminder to trim overgrown branches.

A man dressed in a costume resembling a car seat was found to be responsible for reports of a "driverless van" in Virginia.
Residents of Arlington County reported an unmarked gray van, that appeared to have no driver, cruising up and down local streets while driving cautiously and keeping up with traffic.

In the News:
A new study shows just how dirty your kitchen sponge is. According to nature.com, researchers in Germany say the average kitchen sponge has more bacteria than a toilet.
While studies have found that microwaving or boiling your sponge can reduce bacteria — the findings only appear to work in a lab environment. The new research shows real-world, used kitchen sponges are much more resistant to common cleaning methods.
Researchers recommend replacing your kitchen sponge at least once a week.

American XPOGO performer Dalton Smith teamed up with Nissan Automotive Europe to hop over three Nissan Juke's to claim the Guinness World Record for "Most consecutive cars jumped over on a pogo stick."
Smith began the attempt by bouncing in place to gain enough height before successfully clearing the roof of each car with three massive leaps…. And ending with a flip.

Born deaf, Benjamin Houston showed off his dedication by delivering a pizza on foot after his car broke down about half a mile from his destination.
When asked why he decided to go the full distance for the delivery, Houston broke out his own variation of the Golden Rule.
"God wants us to treat everybody how we wanted to be treated," he said. "I would do it again with anybody really. If my car had broken down in the middle of I-75, I would do it again. I would do my best to get close, one way or another."

A Kentucky doctor preparing to give birth ended up delivering another woman's baby while in her hospital gown.
Dr. Amanda Hess was preparing to have labor induced at Frankfort Regional Medical Center when she heard a woman she had treated before was giving birth and experiencing complications. The physician on call had just left, so she decided to leap into action. All went well, and Dr. Hess later gave birth to a healthy girl, Ellen Joyce.

How does this strike you? A Nevada woman filming footage of a thunderstorm captured the moment she was nearly electrocuted by a lightning strike mere feet away. Aida Dominguez said she went outside to capture video of the storm Sunday in Henderson so she could show her husband, who was at work in Las Vegas.
Dominguez's video shows a bolt of lightning strike a street lamp just feet away from Dominguez, who then flees. She said the lightning caused the street to shake beneath her feet.
