In the news:
NO, YOU CAN’T TEXT YOUR VOTE
Quick voting guide reminder: There is no such thing as voting by text message. Period. If you want to cast a ballot, you can vote at your polling station or vote absentee. That’s it. But ads circulated on Twitter recently would have you believe otherwise. Lifting imagery directly from Hillary Clinton’s campaign materials, the ads encourage supporters of the Democratic nominee to “vote early” and “vote from home” by texting their candidate’s name to a five-digit number.

Stuck with a Song…?
Common melodies, quirky 'jumps' and repeated notes can all make for an 'earworm' tune, study finds. It happens to nearly everyone: You hear a bit of a catchy song on your way to work and it gets "stuck" in your head all day.
British researchers from Durham University say they've determined why this so-called "earworm" effect is more likely with some songs than others. There are certain features of the melody that make it more prone to getting stuck in people's heads. These musically sticky songs seem to have quite a fast tempo, along with a common melodic shape and unusual intervals or repetitions.
According to the study, 90 percent of people get a song stuck in their head at least once a week, typically when the brain is relatively unoccupied, such as while walking or doing chores. (Via: HealthDay)
