- Horror Fans Coping Better. A new study has found that fans of horror movies are coping better with the coronavirus pandemic. Experts believe that the fact that horror fans like to watch disastrous and apocalyptic movies and shows allows them to deal with real emergencies like coronavirus better and by watching the shows they can get survival tips. To get the study results, researchers tested 300 people about movie preferences and what films they watched. After that, the subjects were asked how they felt about COVID and how they prepared and deal with the pandemic. Those who watched more horror seemed less upset and those who watched doomsday films were more resilient.
- Hot Playgrounds. Hot weather’s here — it is July after all — and medical docs are reminding parents of the danger heat can pose to kids at a playground. A new study out of Australia concludes that young children living with at least one dog display far stronger emotional and social development than kids with no pups at home… Researchers say that kids with a pet dog were 23 percent less likely to have problems with their emotions or social interactions with others than children with no dog at home. Kids from a dog-owning household were also 30 percent less likely to act in an anti-social manner and 40 percent less likely to have trouble hanging out with other kids. Children with dogs are also 34 percent more likely to be considerate toward others (sharing, politeness).
- McDonald's To Keep Dining Rooms Closed. Because of the COVID-19 case spike nationwide, McDonald's has decided to keep its dining rooms closed. McDonald's will not be opening any locations for in-restaurant dining for the next 21 days.
