Today's Theme:
Pure Hearts:

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8

In The News:

- face mask in your home. A new study has found that wearing a face mask in your home could help reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus among those you live with. [It’ll help keep you healthy and let you make faces at your spouse.]

- in-home vending machine! A mom in the UK has put an end to her kids raiding the sweets drawer by installing a vending machine. Sarah Balsdon found the machine on Facebook Marketplace. If the kids want sweets they can earn money by doing chores or doing homework.

- Who is better and remembering things? Ladies, if your husband doesn’t remember to pick up milk on the way home or forgets your birthday, it may not be his fault. Research shows men are worse than women at remembering to do things in the future. Rather than simply not listening when asked to do something, it seems that they forget what they were told.

- Empty Calories in Drinks. A new government study finds U.S. children and teens are still downing too many “empty calories” — primarily from sugary beverages, sweets and pizza. The study did turn up some good news: In recent years, kids have been eating fewer empty calories, versus a decade before. The bad news is those sources still account for more than one-quarter of kids’ total calories… The term “empty” generally refers to food and drinks that provide a lot of calories but little to no nutrition. In this study, empty calories were defined as those coming from added sugars or “solid” fats, like butter and shortening.

- Father’s Day Accessories. In a survey, half of dads said they’d like a new grill or grilling accessory for Father’s Day. (does that include a fire extinguisher?)

- on this day in 1896: Guglielmo Marconi received a patent for his newest invention: the radio.

- Prince Harry was on FB. If you’re a member of the royal family, having a personal social media presence is highly discouraged. However, according to Page Six, Prince Harry had a secret Facebook account back in the day. Citing reporting from the Mirror, the site says Harry’s account was under the very normal, not at all obviously fake name “Spike Wells” and boasted more than 400 friends “including some of the UK’s wealthiest and most glamorous socialites.”

… The account was reportedly active from 2008 until 2012 and listed “Spike’s” interests as “all sports” and his hometown as Maun, Botswana (a known favorite location of Harry’s).
