In The News:
  • HOUSE CLEANERS CLEAN WRONG HOUSE _ Some homeowners in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who thought they had been robbed got a nice surprise instead: Their house was cleaned for free by cleaners who went to the wrong address. The two women went to the home Tuesday afternoon. The door had been left unlocked so a neighbor could walk the owner’s dog, so the women went right in and got to work. Nothing was taken. Nothing was disturbed. The house was cleaned up. Police tracked down one of the cleaners late Wednesday and say she was very apologetic.
  • A man with a knife who attempted to rob a Colorado gas station ended up walking out of the convenience store $2 poorer. Police say the man put $2 on the counter to buy a Snickers bar. When the clerk took the cash, the suspect pulled out a knife and demanded the money in the cash register. The clerk slammed the drawer shut, backed away and called 911. The suspect reportedly leaned over the counter and tried punching the buttons on the register, but got nothing and walked out. He even left behind the Snickers.
  • When author Amy Latta first came up with the idea of using a pumpkin as a place to write down things her family was grateful for seven years ago, she didn't have a blog. She was just looking for a way to teach her son Noah, then 3, about Thanksgiving without getting "caught up in the craziness of the holidays. Amy had taken Noah to a pumpkin patch near their home in Hampstead, Maryland, and brought home several pumpkins. On a whim, she grabbed one and started writing things they were grateful for on it with a permanent marker.  In 2012, Amy posted about the tradition on her blog, Amy Latta Creations. She didn't realize the idea would catch on with families around the world. What do you think of this idea?? https://www.today.com/parents/thankful-pumpkin-makes-it-easy-celebrate-fall-kids-t140031
