• Hey Ladies! Your man’s clothes can be the perfect thing to wear when you are in need of some comfort. And now there’s some science behind the idea. Researchers(University of British Columbia) say that wearing something with your partner’s scent on it reduces stress, loneliness and anxiety. By the way, they found a group who were given their partner’s scent had lower stress levels but those who smelled the T-shirts worn by a stranger were significantly more stressed.
• All the time you have spent over the years playing Tetris has actually turned out to be beneficial. The game has been around for decades, but it has always been declared by non-gamers as a waste of time. Thanks to new research, those who don’t love to play video games are going to change their tune. The journal Emotion recently published a study with research that indicated that not only will playing Tetris calm your nerves, but it can also help you get through periods of anxiety. One of the reasons the game is so helpful is because it was put your brain into a state of flow, which is when the mind is in a completely enthralled in a state of activity… Katie Sweeny, a psychologist at the University of California, says when a person’s brain is in a flow that means the person has lost all self-awareness and time has merely flown by because of activity. Many have accomplished this when it comes to playing Tetris but as it turns out, it is good for them.
• German police rushed to investigate a suspected supermarket robbery. Once they arrived at the scene they were unable to find any evidence of a break-in. Then they spotted the culprate. A spider hanging by a motion alarm sensor. Police then relocated the arachnid to a less sensitive area.
• A new study reveals it takes four days of vacation before we stop thinking about work. Makes me wonder… I’ve known people sitting at their desk that stop thinking about work.
