In The News:- Younger children are spending more time watching TV, according to a recent study. Researchers studied the screen time data from nearly 2,000 kids who were all under the age of 6. In 1997, kids under six watched around 1½ to 2 hours of TV. In the most recent study screen time has increased to about 3 hours a day.
- When it comes to their knowledge of U.S. history, most Americans get an ‘F’. A new survey by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation found that four in 10 were able to pass a citizenship exam. According to the study in which 41,000 adults participated, the majority of Americans in all states and the District of Columbia would flunk with only one exception ― Vermont, where 53 percent of citizens would pass. … 15 percent of those who took the multiple choice test knew the year the Constitution was drafted (1787) and 25 percent knew the number of amendments it has (27). A staggering 1 in 4 were unaware that freedom of speech is a First Amendment right.
- Police in London broke into an art gallery to investigate a suspected corpse that turned out to be a mannequin that was part of the art installation.
- About 40,000 pounds of broccoli spilled on the side of an Atlanta freeway Monday morning.

Bonus News (not mentioned on-air):A man near Miami, Florida, tried to flee from a beer store carrying several packs of cigarettes. He tried to run but the handfuls of cigarettes kept him from holding up his pants, which fell down. He tripped on his pants before he made it out of the parking lot. When a police officer caught up to the thief “he had cigarettes scattered all around him, and his pants were down by his ankles.”
