In The News:- Talk about picking up a hitchhiker! A man got the shock of his life when he looked underneath his car and found a python. The man who lives in Thailand said he was on his way to work when he noticed a small tail poking out from under his car. Upon further investigation, he found a 12-foot python wrapped underneath his black Isuzu truck. A snake handler was called to the scene and he was able to remove the snake without incident. Maybe the snake didn’t have money for a Lyft!

- Researchers have found teens who are asked to turn down the volume of their earbuds and headphones are more likely to turn them up instead. The study (University of Colorado) also found that boys listen louder than girls, and those who know the risks loud music has on hearing loss actually play their music at higher levels. Other finds included that teen are less able to judge how loud their music is and up to 24 percent listen a levels which put them at risk of permanent hearing loss.
- Garbage collection is one of the deadliest jobs you can have. Thanks mostly to impatient drivers who whip around stopped collection trucks and run into trash collectors, garbage collecting is riskier than piloting airplanes and almost three times as dangerous as driving a cab. Researchers said the only riskier jobs are fishing, with 178 deaths per 100,000, and timber cutting, with 156 per 10,000. The rate of deaths for garbage collectors is 90 per 100,000.
- The failing Payless ShoeSource chain will honor gift cards and store credit until March 11 as the company liquidates all operations. The Topeka, Kansas, company, which filed for bankruptcy protection this week, will allow returns and exchanges of non-final sale items through the end of this month for goods bought before Feb. 17.
