- The number of marriages in the U.S. has dropped dramatically because there's a shortage of financially attractive men.
That's according to a new study by Cornell University, which found an average woman's ideal husband would have to make about 58 percent more money than available men actually do. "Most American women hope to marry but current shortages of marriageable men -- with a stable job and good income -- make this increasingly difficult," says the study's lead author, Daniel T. Lichter.
Despite the findings, Lichter says romance still plays a big role in tying the knot. "Marriage is still based on love, but it also is fundamentally an economic transaction," he says. "Many young men today have little to bring to the marriage bargain, especially as young women's education levels on average now exceed their male suitors."

- Guys who gossip outnumber gossip girls two to one, according to research. And 80 percent of guys’ conversations are spent on discussing other people and their habits. The difference between what guys and women gossip about? The study found that while guys love exchanging juicy tidbits of personal info, only about 5 percent of their gossip is malicious.

- A Denver businessman says he’s found the unique business which tailors to millennials. Alex Kurylan opened the Denver Selfie Museum at the beginning of this month, giving paying customers the chance to take as many selfies as they want at unique photo booths. For $25 per person, Kurylan allows customers to walk freely around his more than 30 different photo backdrops, many of which are interactive. Kurylan original owned escape rooms, but said the selfie museum was more unique and promising.

- SCIENCE CONFIRMS: GERMS SPREAD _ A study shows that if you place germs on an office building’s door handle, the germs will spread to people scattered throughout a large scale structure in only hours.

- Were you up? Did you feel it early this morning? There was 3.8 Magnitude earthquake near Gassville, AR. The quake hit at 1:42 a.m. Several have reported that they could feel the ground shake as far north as the Branson area, and even up to Lebanon.

- A message a family of three wrote and stuffed into a bottle lead to their rescue from a 40-foot waterfall after their backpacking trip in California went awry.
The family, which included a 13-year-old boy, planned to find a rope at the waterfall to climb down to reach their campsite. When they got to the falls, there was no rope. They were stranded on a very narrow part of the falls with no phone signal!

The family wrote a note with the date on a bar order slip, stuffed it into a green bottle they were carrying and tossed it into the falls, hoping someone would find the note. The note was thankfully found a quarter-mile upriver by two hikers who alerted rescuers.

The family was rescued hours after tossing the bottle. The stranded family's father wants to meet the hikers who found the message in a bottle and thank them personally.
