- Google is going to start offering checking accounts.

- How kind are you? A study of adults found that while the average adult would rate themselves a solid seven out of 10 on the kindness scale, 14 percent don’t think they could be any nicer.

- The number of passengers flying over this Thanksgiving holiday period should be one for the record books. The Transportation Security Administration says about 26.8 million passengers are expected to pass through TSA checkpoints nationwide from the Friday before Thanksgiving through the Monday afterward, or November 22 to December 2... That would be a record for the Thanksgiving period, and about 4% more than the same time last year… The Sunday after Thanksgiving is expected to be the single busiest day ever for the US airline industry. About 3.1 million passengers are expected on that day, December 1.

- A golden retriever born with a tail on its forehead is doing just fine after being rescued from the cold. The Missouri-based rescue service Mac’s Mission found the stray pup wandering around in the freezing cold. He had an injured paw, but more intriguing was the tusk-like protuberance between his eyes… X-rays revealed that the “tail” was not connected to anything, and it doesn’t seem to bother the dog — named Narwhal. Vets aren’t planning to remove the addition anytime soon.

- In some parts of the country (I’m talking to you, Midwest), ranch dressing is second only to ketchup on the condiment shelf. If there’s a ranch lover in your family, Christmas shopping for them just became easier because Hidden Valley Ranch has a new holiday line. The collection includes a Hidden Valley blanket and pillow set; a standard winter ugly sweater; a Hidden Valley adult onesie; a backpack; and more.

- The NYPD says officers arrested a woman for a bogus 911 call that was placed last Friday — but they are now investigating whether she is behind making more than 24,000 of these types of calls since the summer.

- Netflix has teamed up with Nickelodeon. The streaming service and the cable network will produce kid- and family-targeted films and TV series based on Nickelodeon’s existing library of original characters, plus new content.
