In The News:- Daylight Saving Time started Sunday and it could take some of you up to two weeks to find your groove again. According to a Sunday survey, 75% of us are done with moving clocks forward and backward.
- Sales of print cookbooks are hot, with the 21 percent sales increase in 2018. That’s despite the fact that recipes are widely available online, on apps, in newsletters and on the websites of restaurants and chefs.
- If you work in an office then chances are you have had at least one food item stolen from the fridge. A pregnant woman in England had her lunch repeatedly stolen and reached out to her company’s HR department. They had cameras installed and caught the thief in the act. It turned out to be an older woman in a senior position who was up for a promotion. Except instead of getting the promotion, she was fired.
- The workplace is a sick place to be. According to a poll, 77 percent of Americans go to work even when they are sick. 33 percent of the infectious employees blame their workload; 26 percent are afraid they’ll lose their job and 18 percent figure it’s best to save the sick days for the kids.
- Louisville Zoo (Kentucky) has closed while engineers study a newly discovered sinkhole nearly as large as a football field. The sinkhole was found Wednesday in an undeveloped area away from any zoo animals. No people or animals were reported injured and no buildings damaged.
- An Illinois woman's pet rabbit has been declared the oldest LIVING in the world by Guinness World Records after celebrating his 16th birthday. Mick, an agouti rabbit from Berwyn, Ill., marked his 16th birthday on Feb. 9. The oldest rabbit ever is listed by Guinness as Flopsy, a wild-born Australian rabbit that was taken in by a Tasmania resident in 1964 and lived for nearly 19 more years.
- Fast food chain KFC is turning to crowdfunding to raise money for an unusual tie-in product: the Kentucky Fried Hot Tub. "Like a KFC bucket, but bigger and filled with soothing hot water instead of delicious fried chicken," https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/kentucky-fried-hot-tub#/
