- Parents, here’s yet another good reason to stop smoking: A study found that babies of smokers run a higher risk of turning into criminals.
- A study into our kitchens reveals many old devices are still going strong. The survey found 37 percent have a fridge that’s more than a decade old, and four in ten are still using an oven after a decade or more. Amazingly, nearly one in ten are still going strong with an appliance that’s a quarter of a century old, or even older.
- A burglar with a cold was caught after he broke into a house in England because he dropped his handkerchief. The burglar got away with a TV and a leather jacket, but left the hanky at the scene when he got it out to blow his nose. The crook was caught by police after they examined the handkerchief and found traces of his DNA, which were in matched to records in the police computer.
- In Bonn, Germany, two men ran into a post office with guns drawn. They told the clerks to step back from the counter. Then they leaned over, grabbed a brown paper bag they thought was full of cash, and ran out. But the bag had no money in it. Post office clerks had a good laugh knowing that the thieves had gotten away with nothing more than the potato salad one of the workers had brought for lunch.
