- A study (Ohio State University) found that boys are more afraid of snakes, monsters, and scary amusement park rides than girls, while girls are more afraid of thunderstorms and the dark.

- Summer is here… A new poll reveals that only 6 percent of women think they look good in a bathing suit; 40 percent think they look okay; 30 percent said “don’t ask.”

- Students and faculty at a university in China were pleased when they spotted environmentally friendly “weeding machines” dealing with overgrown grass on campus. The weeding machines were cows — but when photos were shared on social media, the university broke the news that, no, it hadn’t hired the cows to clean up the grass. Instead, the cows had escaped from a nearby farm and, naturally, found there way to a place with a lot of delicious food.

Social Media Fun:Summer is almost here — and so is our increased intake of cold, sweet, delicious ice cream. Google Trends determined which popular ice cream flavors are searched the most in all 50 states. Apparently cookies and cream is No. 1, which topped search results in 14 states. Cookies and Cream! Bonus News (not mentioned on-air):Legos may be among the most fun toys to play with, but for parents they also produce a number of potential problems, including the dreaded moment when you discover your little architect has swallowed a Lego block. A group of pediatricians in the United Kingdom has figured out approximately how long it takes for a Lego to go in one end and come out the other. The six researchers each ingested a standard Lego character head. From there, they each checked their own feces with chopsticks to locate the ingested Lego head… According to the study, it took an average of 1.71 days for them to find Lego in their poop, although one of the authors never found their Lego head.
