- We now have less than 6 months until Christmas, so Wal-Mart is helping celebrate. Yes, Talk about the holidays coming to stores earlier and earlier every year. Walmart has brought back its Christmas Tree Cakes for July. The Little Debbie branded snacks hit shelves on Wednesday, featuring Santa in full vacation mode on the packaging, relaxing on a beach while rocking a Hawaiian print shirt. On the back, along with nutrition information, there's a "Greetings from Santa" message detailing how the Claus family has been enjoying the offseason. - A new survey finds the average American will spend nearly 23 hours on road trips with the family this summer. During those 23 hours we’ll take 11 bathroom breaks and hear the phrases “are we there yet” or “how much longer” about 17 times.

- A top executive at the maker of the multibillion dollar Candy Crush Saga game has revealed that more than 9 million players a day spend from between three to six hours or more playing the puzzle game. He also shared that last year one player spent $2,600 in a single day on the gold bar currency that can be used to propel players faster through the game. … Around the world Candy Crush has 270 million players who fire up the app 2 or 3 times a month.

- Despite headlines of record low unemployment and a booming economy, just 43% of Americans are certain they could come up with $2,000 for an unexpected expense. There is some good news: More people are prepared for an emergency today than they were in 2012, when just 35% of people were certain they could cover a $2,000 bill. (Study from FINRA Foundation)

- A study says delivering bad news is easier — and the information gets delivered more accurately — when done by email rather than face-to-face or by phone. A co-author of the study thinks its because “People don’t sugarcoat” the news — “they just tell it like it is” through email.

- Newborns are ugly. Studies (Brock University) suggest we don’t find babies particularly cute until 3, or even 6 months of age, when the awkward old man features give way to chubby cheeks and big eyes. They then remain at peak cuteness from 6 months until around age 4½.

- In Iceland two men stole a camper and drove it 75 miles to a scenic spot. During setup the men made so much noise that a neighboring camper offered his help. To his surprise he noticed that the camper was his and called police.

- The more, the merrier — especially when Hallmark Christmas movies are involved. While it might feel like the holiday season is far away, Hallmark is here to make our spirits bright (months in advance): To celebrate its 10th anniversary of holiday magic, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will air 40 brand-new Christmas movies in total, starting July 7. Too soon???
