It seems in setting the car ablaze, the man got a little too close, and when he walked into the police station the officers couldn’t help but notice his hair and eyebrows were singed.
- Rachel Thornburg called police to report her car had been stolen after she’d left her keys inside. It just so happened that a Clinton County, Iowa, Sheriff’s deputy was in pursuit of the very car Thornburg was calling about. The workers (at Benesch in Pottsville, Pennsylvania) said they started planning the attempt in February and gathered 100 volunteers, including nearly 50 children, to help set up the track this week… The volunteers laid out nearly 1,400 pieces of track and the toy car glided 2,176 feet, beating the previous record of 1,838 feet, set in Moscow in 2018… Evidence from the event is being submitted to Guinness for official certification
- Next time you check out of a hotel, be sure to look for your phone charger. A survey of hotel workers say chargers are one of the most common thing guests leave behind — but it’s not at all the strangest. People don’t usually come back for most items, but one they do is false teeth.

- A study has found that people are more likely to be dissatisfied with their house if it is smaller than their neighbors’. This study provides evidence that people care not only about their house’s features, but their relative position: how their house compares in size to those of their immediate neighbors. Daniel Kuhlmann, an assistant professor at Iowa State University, said, “Although we may not realize it, our housing decisions may affect our neighbors’ actions … by building a large house we could unwittingly push our neighbors to spend more money to buy larger homes to catch up.” Kuhlmann says this is one possible explanation for the steady increase in the size of single-family houses in the U.S. over the last 50 years.
