Peanut butter is a dominating flavor. Some strange combinations—peanut butter and fries, for example—work because all you can taste is peanut butter. For other pairings—like the peanut butter, egg, cheese, and bacon—the peanut butter is sweet enough to be inoffensive. For these types of combinations, we'd rather just eat plain peanut butter or keep the original concept as is.

We found that the peanut butter did its best work when coupled with sharp, acidic, and bitter ingredients like kimchi, sour pickles, and raw onion. These work with the peanut butter to create something new and exciting.

- Bug your valentine! Valentine’s Day is around the corner and The Bronx Zoo is bringing back its Name a Roach promotion, where you can name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after a loved one (or hated one) in exchange for a $15 donation. You even get a snazzy digital certificate. The promotion has been popular over the years, so much so that the zoo has expanded it’s roach offerings this year. You can now also get a roach candle and roach socks to go along with the certificate.

- Sharing too much on the web. A study shows more than half of adults 45 and older who are on social networks could be in danger of becoming victims of identity theft or other crimes because they share too much private information. In one example, the study found that 14 percent of adults — and 20 percent of those age 60 and over — listed their full home addresses in their social media profiles.

When the armed man ran, he chose a door that had already been locked for the night — and face-planted into it. He still escaped, but police were able to collect the robber’s DNA from the door. It matched an entry in a federal crime data base.

- A mummy speaks! Humanity is the most technologically advanced it’s ever been. We’re so advanced, we now know what a mummy sounds like. Researchers at the University of London scanned the mouth and throat of Nesyamun, an ancient mummified Egyptian priest, and 3D printed it. They then built an electronic larynx and reconstructed what would be the sound he’d make if he came to life again.

- Fake Tiger shock! In China, a woman in her 70s had to be taken to hospital after she mistook a painting of a tiger in a dark alley for the real thing. The painting was in the window of a shop and the owner had put a light behind it to make the tiger look more realistic.
