- On Tuesday, Microsoft dropped support of Windows 7, nearly 11 years after first launching the operating system. Windows 7 became so popular that it took Windows 10 nearly four years just to pass it in market share. Today, millions of PCs are still running Windows 7, and the operating system still runs on a massive 26 percent of all PCs. Microsoft spent years trying to get people to upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge, but tens of millions of PCs will now be left vulnerable to exploits and security vulnerabilities… Businesses and education Windows 7 users will be able to pay for extended security updates, but it could be costly for some.

- Dan Hill learned the hard way that 24/7 is really just a figure of speech. The Sandy, Utah, fitness buff had just finished his regular laps in the swimming pool at his local 24 Hour Fitness gym after midnight on Saturday when he realized that he was locked in. The gym, he found out, recently adjusted its hours to close between midnight and 4 AM… Hill did what any gym rat worth his weight in sweat would do in this predicament: He shared the experience with his Facebook friends. He wrote early Sunday morning: “I am literally locked inside 24 hour fitness right now. … I called [the police]. They told me they’d call me back. I called my wife, she said find a comfortable place to sleep.” Hill waited two hours for police to rescue him. Hill, who plans to remain a member of the gym, now carries a sign to be placed next to the lap pool stating, “I’m here.”

- In the wake of Prince Harry’s historic departure from the royal family, Burger King offered the Duke of Sussex a part-time job as part of their royal family. Before its viral tweet, though, Burger King turned the whole royal dust-up into an opportunity to offer the less royal public gainful employment, tweeting everyone else is welcome to apply for a job in “[their] kingdom.”

KCJ Training & Employment Solutions stated in a Facebook post that they were “proud to incentivize” their staff to quit smoking and to “create a healthy workplace” within their offices… A senior manager for the company said he was inspired by an article he saw last year about a Japanese company that was considering giving non-smoking employees up to six extra days of vacation a year… He calculated that smokers who take several smoke breaks a day can potentially add up to over 16 work days of smoking a year.

- Bandana Bandit: In Florida a bank robber’s note read: “This is a robbery, give me all of your money.” The man was wearing a long-sleeved camouflage shirt, plaid pajama bottoms, and a bandanna. Except the bandana wasn’t covering his face — it was covering the back of his head. The teller summoned the manager, who asked the man, “What’s on the note?” Rather than answer, the would-be robber fled.

- The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a man who they say intentionally hit a motorcyclist — and they have dashcam footage to thank. Troopers says Jonathan Edward Blaine told them he saw a speeding motorcycle coming up behind him. Blaine said the motorcycle then hit his vehicle. But there was a dash cam in Blaine’s vehicle and Blaine voluntarily let troopers see it. The footage showed Blaine “driving straight … then one sudden swift jerk of the vehicle to the left and the impact with the” motorcycle. Blaine was taken to jail. Sadly, the motorcyclist was injured.
