In The News:
- Clean Off Your Desk Day - Gluten-Free Day

- Rubber Ducky Day. According to a 1973 Calendar, this is Rubber Ducky’s Birthday. But, others say it’s February 25, the date Rubber Ducky first appeared on Sesame Street.

- On this day in 1957: The Frisbee as we know it was introduced today.
Joke: It’s been said that the frisbee industry will probably die one day... but boomerangs, those will always make a comeback.

- We always knew it… gaming saves lives! UK teenager Aidan Jackson was talking to an American gamer from his bedroom when he had a seizure. His friend, who lived in Texas, immediately alerted police in the UK. The first Aidan’s parents knew of the emergency was when police and an ambulance appeared at their front door. Aidan’s parents then rushed upstairs to find their son “extremely disorientated”.

- Planes and helicopters are being used to feed the thousands of hungry wildlife stranded amid the Australian wildfire crisis. The New South Wales government has started doing food-drops, delivery thousands of pounds of carrots and sweet potato from above to feed the state’s colonies of brush-trailed rock wallabies. The wallabies typically survive the fire itself, but are then left stranded with limited natural food as the fire takes out the vegetation around their rocky habitat.

- A comfy cow is a happy cow _ European research indicates that cows lying down have a 20 to 50 percent increase in blood flow through their udders vs. standing cows, which translates into more milk production. And, because you didn’t know, for every pound of milk produced by a cow, 400 to 500 pounds of blood have to flow through the udder for it to pull the nutrients out.

- People are influenced to a certain degree by the television shows and movies they watch, and children are generally more malleable than adults, and tend to take such programs to heart more frequently than the average adult. Now, a fascinating new study (Tilburg University) has identified a way for television’s influence over children to be used in a positive fashion. Kids who watched a child-oriented cooking show that featured healthy, nutritious food were more than 2½ times more likely to eat healthy food themselves compared to children who had watched a cooking program featuring unhealthy food.

- The Hummer is coming back, and this time, with WAY better gas mileage. According a report from the Wall Street Journal, GM plans to resurrect the model as an electric pickup truck under their GMC label. It will be out sometime in early 2022. The Hummer pickup is also expected to make its debut in a new Super Bowl commercial starring LeBron James.

- A guy in China was trying to smuggle iPhones into his country. To do this he created a plastic suit that held 94 iPhones. He then strapped them around his arms, legs, hips, and torso and put regular clothes over the plastic suit. But there’s a problem when you’re wearing 94 iPhones: you have to walk around, pretending that everything is fine even though you’re moving like a robot. And that is how the man was caught: officials noticed his weird walk and inability to move his major joints normally. That’s when they discovered his secret suit of iPhone armor.

Fun Fact:In your life you will go through 20 gallons of toothpaste. #funfact

Bonus News (not mentioned on-air):Here’s a simple way to have a happier marriage: touch while sleeping. In a study (University of Herfordshire), 94 percent of couples who touched while sleeping said they were happier. For couples who are hands-off (and arms and legs and toes), only 68 percent are happy… The strongest warm, fuzzy feelings came from couples who slept less than an inch apart. More than 30 inches spelled bad news!
