- Super Bowl and God. 26% of Americans say God determines who wins the super bowL _ Their hands might be gifted… their feet fast… their strategies on the field absolutely cunning… but a quarter of Americans don’t really think it matters. They believe that God personally controls who wins the Super Bowl.

- Pickle Bouquet. Not sure what to get your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day? Instead of flowers, how about a lovely arrangement of pickles? Boston-based Grillo’s Pickles is bringing back its famous pickle bouquet. It’s a do-it-yourself kit that comes with instructions for how to put the bouquet together. The kit includes an empty 32-ounce pickle container, 15 wooden skewers, artificial floral filler and cellophane, plus a coupon for a free jar of pickles. It’s being sold online for $25.

- Titanic was struck again… by submarine. The wreck of the Titanic was struck by a submarine hired by a British adventure company. The Titanic’s remains were hit by the $35 million Triton when “intense and highly unpredictable currents” caused the operator to lose control. The July trip was accompanied by scientists from Newcastle University in England and carried the submersible to the ship’s resting place about 12,500 feet below the North Atlantic surface. Expedition leader Rob McCallum confirmed there had been “contact” with the Titanic because of strong currents, but insisted that any damage could only have been minor… The expedition revealed that Titanic Capt. Edward John Smith’s bathtub had disappeared inside the deteriorating remains.

- Traveling with his ferret. A 25-year-old British man quit his job last year to travel and Instagram his experiences with his best friend, Bandit. Charlie Hammerton traveled to 11 countries with best friend is his pet ferret. Charlie financed his trip around the world by selling all of his possessions — raising about $20,000.

- Does a fitbit help? Companies often tout the benefits of their wearable fitness technology with claims that a smartwatch or heart rate monitor can educate users about their fitness and health habits and motivate them to be more active. But researchers (University of Pennsylvania) say that strapping a piece of tech to your wrist and recording information doesn’t necessarily drive behavioral change. In fact, the people most likely to use wearables are those who need them least. … A survey of 6,223 people found that more than half of the people who buy wearables stop using them.

- Leave old grenades alone! In Germany, man who bought an old hand grenade from a friend was arrested after throwing it out a window to see whether it worked. It sort of ‘poofed’ — and freaked out a lot of people. The man was arrested.

Valentine’s Day is just a couple of weeks away and one hotel in Canada is offering a free stay. But only if couples conceive a child there. It’s called the Nooner Baby-Maker special with rates starting at about $45. British Columbia’s Hotel Zed said couples can book a room from 10 AM to 2 PM and if they welcome a baby 9-months later, they get a free Valentine’s Day stay for 18 years.
