- One in five U.S. workers say they are late to work at least once a week. The most common excuse is traffic, followed by a lack of sleep and getting children ready for school or daycare. Other frequent excuses are problems with public transportation, wardrobe issues or dealing with pets. … One in 10 workers said they are late to their jobs at least twice a week.

- If you’re going to choose a life of crime, don’t get a facial tattoo. A burglar in Australia is behind bars after being identified by his facial tat. The man was easily picked out by alleged victims because they recognized the tattoo on his left cheek: an image of a baby in a diaper.

- Police in the UK were sent to a home where someone had dialed the emergency number four times over a few minutes. After each call was answered the phone would go dead. When police got to the home they looked through a window and saw a broken lamp. Fearing the worst they smashed the door down to investigate. Once inside they found no sign of a burglary or injured person — just a cat playing with the phone.

Social Media Fun:Emily McGuire admits she’s a frequent and “proud” Amazon shopper. The North Carolina photographer and mom of three says she receives, on average, two to three “lovely brown Amazon boxes” per week — and gets giddy over every one of them. Her husband, Waylon, is so aware of his wife’s brown box addiction that when Emily’s recent birthday was approaching, he had the perfect idea: he ordered a customized cake from a bakery made to look exactly like one of her beloved Amazon packages. The cake was made by Sweet Dreams Bakery in Dunn, North Carolina — and it did not disappoint. Emily said when she saw the cake “In that moment, I knew my husband ‘gets me’.”
