- Ever hear of ‘second adolescence’? This is the phase of your life when, like a kid, you start to live life on your own terms again. Researchers say second adolescence begins at the age of 50… Key signs you’ve reached this life stage include no longer caring what other people think, being more open to talking about personal issues, and choosing to pursue a life-long dream.

- In Maryland, an elderly man taking his dogs for a walk along the river became stuck in mud above his knees. Fortunately, his dogs kept barking until they got the attention of two cyclists who helped rescue the man.

- A new study (in Current Biology) says laugh tracks make jokes funnier… Researchers gathered adults and played them 40 jokes, all accompanied either by fake or spontaneous laughs. Across the board, everyone rated the jokes as funnier than they had been without the laughs.

- An Idaho man set a new world record by covering his wife completely in plastic wrap in less than two minutes. I do hope he had permission!

- A suspect in North Carolina tried to escape arrest by diving into the river, but police simply stationed themselves downriver and waited for him to tire himself out.

- An 85-year-old widow was woken up when two thieves attempted to get into her house in Norway. She went right at the two invaders and tossed a bucket of water at them. When one of the men grabbed at her, she whacked him and his accomplice with a stick. Neighbors heard the racket and called police. When the woman went down to the police station to positively identify the criminals, she made them do sit-ups as punishment.

- A man In England is fighting with his optician. Because he lost his right eye when he was 14 he feels that, since he has just one eye, he shouldn’t pay the same price as those with two eyes. When he asked for a policy change he was told it’s the same price to test one eye as it is for two.

- Thieves broke into a store in Colombia and stole 756 shoes — all for right feet. The haul of men’s and women’s footwear, of all sizes, makes and colors, was valued at over $20,000. But the robbers will not be able to sell a single pair because all the matching left shoes had been safely locked away in a storeroom.

- Over the course of a lifetime a human will see what grow 84 feet? (Each of their fingernails)

Social Media Fun:A mom who was trying to make her 2-year-old daughter, Elizabeth’s birthday special by getting her birthday cake personalized with her nickname, “Lizard.” As Melin Jones, rushed to pick up the cake, it wasn’t until she got home until she noticed the cake said, “Happy Birthday Loser.” Jones took a picture of her daughter with the cake, but since she can’t read she won’t know until she gets older about the typo. Jones posted the photo online and it quickly went viral. “A lot of people have reached out to me to tell me it made them laugh harder than they have in a long time, or that they were having a bad day at work until reading it and so on,” she adds. “That’s been the best part of it all, just knowing that people are finding the same type of humor in it that we did.” https://www.facebook.com/MelinMJones/posts/3089642601053652
