- Hey Branson! After more than a year of rumors, it’s official. Aldi is is expected to be opening Summer of 2020. It’ll be located a lot in the northwest corner of The Shoppes at Branson Hills.
Aldi also has development plans in Springfield, where the company is targeting a fall 2019 opening for a store located in a portion of the shuttered Ruby’s Market atE. Sunshine St.
- Netflix is ad-free and plans to stay that way, the company said Wednesday. The company was responding to speculation that it would begin selling advertising.
- Cities have put spikes on ledges, installed bars on park benches and enacted tent prohibitions to keep homeless people from sleeping in public. West Palm Beach, Florida, is trying something else: blasting popular children songs like Baby Shark and Raining Tacos all night long to discourage people from spending the night in a park.
… A spokeswoman said the city plays music overnight at the Waterfront Lake Pavilion to discourage “congregating at the building” and to “encourage people to seek safer, more appropriate shelter.”
- 81 percent of Americans believe workplace attire has become more casual across the board in the last decade—and only one in five US workplaces (20%) still enforce a dress code. That’s according to a new poll that found that half of workers follow a casual or smart–casual dress code at work, allowing for jeans and other dress-down items in the office. 23 percent consider the rules at their offices to be ‘mostly smart’, but still make allowance for casual touches.
- An 11-year-old in Utah got the attention of local police when he held up a sign which read: “ICE COLD BEER.” Turns out he was selling root beer.
- Dr. Tuan, who works at a clinic in Vietnam, said reported that patient came in Saturday complaining of ear pain and suspected that an insect had crawled into his ear. The doctor used a camera to look into the patient's ear and discovered... a small butterfly deep in his ear canal. The doctor shared video of the insect being removed with a pair of tweezers.
