- Necktie Day & Comic Strip Appreciation Day

- If you get a letter stating you’re no longer able to receive services at CoxHealth under your insurance plan, don’t worry. A spokeswoman with CoxHealth says Missouri Care, a company that administers insurance benefits for many people in the Ozarks, sent those letters in error and they are incorrect. Missouri Care is looking into what went wrong, and will notify patients directly regarding the error.

- Just in time for the holidays, Oreo has released a holiday cookie house that looks to give gingerbread houses a run for their money. The kit is setup just like a gingerbread house, except the cookie pieces are Oreos. You won't have to empty your account for this house either, they run about $10.

- Sometimes you just have to take a vacation from the news. A recent study confirms that bad news stresses us out. It’s worse for women. Hearing or reading depressing news effects both men and women, but women hold on to the stress much longer than guys. On the other hand, men probably shake off the stress by forgetting the stories faster. Women tend to remember the details to bad news far longer than men.

- Your grandma might think the internet is rotting your brain, but it’s possible if she did a little face-time with Google that she could stay sharper in the noggin herself. In a study (UCLA), internet novices who were instructed to search the web showed increased activity in areas of the brain associated with making decisions and memory in just two weeks.

- In China, a guy had recently been set up on a date with a lovely young woman that he really wanted to impress. And since he had no transportation of his own, he stole a motorcycle from in front of a supermarket the evening before they were scheduled to meet. When he arrived for his date the next day she was furious. Not because he was late and not because he wasn’t properly dressed, but because the motorcycle he had stolen the day before belonged to her. She called police.

- Police in California (Lenmoore) arrested two men accused of stealing $50,000 worth of cheese from a local business. Investigators say the men had been taking items from a food plant for the last two years. Detectives determined the men were selling the cheese on social media sites, by going door to door, on the street, and at flea markets.

- Netflix says its monitoring everyone’s password sharing, and yes, they are eventually going to try to make people stop doing it. Netflix didn’t say exactly how they were planning on accomplishing this, just that it is going to be “consumer-friendly” when they do decide to begin their crackdown.
