- The state of Maine has passed a new law that allows schools to give their leftover food to pig farms.
- Here’s a study that didn’t need to be done: Parents with kids under the age of 18 start their day earlier than non-parents. A majority of parents with children under 18 wake up by 6AM (56%), compared with 37 percent of non-parents… But parents of minors aren’t going to bed any earlier than the typical American or non-parents. A majority (57%) of these parents said that they go to bed between 10PM and 1AM, which is similar to the number of US Adults (57%) and non-parents (54%) that fall asleep between those hours.
- An Idaho man with more than 100 Guinness World Records to his name captured his latest title by finishing a half-marathon in 2 hours, 13 minutes and 41.8 seconds — while skipping. David Rush, whose previous records include the world’s longest tortilla throw, said he skipped a total 141 miles while training for the record throughout 2019. He set his record during Sunday’s City of Trees Half Marathon in Boise.
- Autumn is a great time to put grilled cheese and tomato soup back on the dinner table. Or you could go lazy and with Lay’s Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup-flavored potato chips. The special chips will be available nationwide beginning Monday, October 21.
- Some locksmiths in Scotland were the victims of the perfect irony Monday when they locked themselves out. Naturally passersby couldn’t resist sharing photos of the locksmiths working to get into their own store.
- He put a mask on his face, pulled out a gun and demanded money. But when the bank clerk laughed in his face, the would-be robber in Croatia was so humiliated he just ran away. The clerk laughed at the threat from the robber because she knew she was protected by bulletproof glass.
- Mountain Dew has launched a new flavor you might want to check out. Maui Blast is the Dew you know with a splash of pineapple. People that have tried it love the taste. Some say the citrus and pineapple mixed together is a great combination. The flavor has been spotted at Dollar General stores throughout the country. No word on where else you can find it.
