- survey of office workers finds they typically spend around two hours each day dealing with their inbox. However, around half of this time is wasted by accidentally re-reading messages, needlessly checking for updates and sending emails to colleagues when it is easier to speak to them face-to-face. As a result, around five hours per week — or a staggering 230 hours a year — of productivity is lost.

- A dog that went missing from a Northern California home was found four years later — and more than 400 miles away. The 8-year-old German shepherd named Kimber was recently found wandering loose by a member of the public. Kimber’s owner was identified and drove to get the dog.

- A new survey finds the most popular vegetable in America is still corn. However, it turns out the most surprising result of the study may be that a staggering number of adults haven’t eaten any vegetables their entire lives. One in four respondents say they’ve actually never eaten a vegetable at all.

- A Georgia constructor worker shot himself in the thigh with a nail gun. His solution: pull the nail out himself with pliers before paramedics arrived. The 3-inch nail had grooves that made it difficult to remove. The nail wouldn’t budge and he was taken to the hospital.

- Spending time in the company of good friends regularly has been shown to have a positive impact on health. But for many Americans, socializing in adulthood gets harder with age. A recent survey reveals that 45% of adults admit they find it hard to make new friends. In fact, the average adult hasn’t made a new friend in the last five years.
